Recently I’ve had the pleasure to create a framed quote piece for the office of a personal coach.
How did we create the framed quote?
I’ll be detailing the entire process here.
From deciding on what to write, what color ink to use, and picking a frame, you’ll find out everything we did.
Creating our quote
Before I starting writing anything, I talked to my client.
I found out what she does, the purpose of this wall art piece, and the esthetic she was going for.
My client specialized in Narrative Therapy, and one of her programs involves creating real life quests for the client to go on.
So we came up with a question related to this:
Are you working on your main quest, or did you get sidetracked by a bunch of side quests again?
It’s meant to remind her clients to focus on their main goals, and avoid spreading themselves too thin. Something that I believe many of us can relate to.
Choosing the materials
Finding a frame
While I already have a selection of frames for my personal mantras, we needed a bigger frame for this project.
The concept of questing put me in mind of Arthurian legends, so I knew that we needed something special for this framed quote.
I went thrift shopping to get a vintage frame to compliment our overall theme. I found an old frame full of character that seemed to be exactly what we were looking for. Not too ornamented, but with the patina of years past.
Selecting the ink
The ink we chose is a golden-green color that has a lot of variation depending on how much ink there is on the nib. It’s a water-based pigment that flows beautifully.
Framed quote: final result
Here’s what the framed piece looks like:
I hope she enjoys her new wall art for years to come and that her clients appreciate it.
